Chandigarh – The Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Punjab unit chief and Member of Parliament (MP) from Sangrur, Bhagwant Mann, said here on that union Saturday that union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal and former Punjab Finance Minister Parminder Sungh Dhindsa should desist from spreading rumors about his quitting the AAP and joining some other political outfit. Terming these gimmicks as a mere figment of their imagination, Mann dared them to face the reality on the ground in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
He said that AAP was the only party that had emerged out of many struggles, unlike the other traditional parties, which groomed their blue-eyed boys to ensure that the power did not go out of their hands.
Elaborating on the vital issue, Mann reiterated that he had during his speeches, said that the biggest threat to the integrity of the country and its democratic traditions was the Modi-Shah duo and that AAP was ready to make the biggest sacrifice to oust them from power corridor. He added that in the political history, AAP was the only party which had an eventful history of achievements that it had attained in a short span of just five years it was founded. He said Harsimrat Kaur Badal should, instead of indulging in commenting on anybody or everybody, settle down and decide which place she would like to contest from.
Mann dared Sukhbir Singh Badal through Harsimrat Kaur Badal to contest from the Sangrur Parliamentary constituency opposite him, of course, with a rider that he should keep his brother-in-law Bikramjit Singh Majithia off from Sangrur, saying the youth in the constituency were free from drugs, especially ‘chitta’. Mounting a veiled attack on Majithia, Mann said that wherever he (Majithia) had gone during the previous elections, youth were shoved into drugs in the area, he said.
Sounding a note of wisdom to both Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Mann said that she should focus more on her seat and Dhindsa should, instead of giving unsolicited advisories, follow the advice of his father.
