Bathinda, March 9 – Union food processing industries minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal today thanked Railways minister Piyush Goyal for approving additional facilities for rail over-bridges being constructed in the city on the Sirsa and Delhi railway line.
Disclosing this here, Mrs Harsimrat Badal said the Railways minister had responded to her request for increasing facilities in the over-bridges which are under construction by stating that provision would be kept for a pedestrian pathway on the over-bridges. She said besides this the Railways minister had also stated that a provision of steps would be kept towards the Sikri bazaar side of the over bridge to facilitate people.
Mrs Badal said the Railways had also approved widening of the service road on the over-bridges and feasibility for the same was being checked with the Punjab government. She said keeping in view the need to prevent overtaking on the over-bridges due to safety concerns; the Railways had approved provision of dividers for two way traffic.
The Bathinda mp thanked the Railways minister for the prompt resolution of all the issues regarding rail over-bridges being constructed in Bathinda as per a representation received from the Bathinda Mayor.
