MRSPTU RESEARCH SCHOLARS WIN BEST RESEARCH AWARDS IN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

BATHINDA,  JANUARY 22 – Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda’s three research scholars of Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology (DoPST) made their University and Department proud by winning Best Research Awards at the International Conference organized in Collaboration with Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI), Punjab at Adesh Medical University, Bathinda recently.

                The conference was based on the theme of “Current Trends In Global Clinical & Pharmacy Practice”. Many renowned international and national speakers enlightened this event through their scientific lecture sessions on the current trends in pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy practice. Scientific papers were presented by scholars from different states, government as well as private universities.

                MRSPTU, Research Scholars Mr. Gagandeep Jaiswal & Mr. Abdul Kadir, under the supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Puneet Kumar, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences & Technology has won 1st prize in oral presentation and poster presentation, respectively. Another research scholar Ms. Kajal, guided by Prof. (Dr.) Rahul Deshmukh has won 3rd prize in oral presentation.

                Gagandeep, currently working on Neurodegenerative Epilepsy Disease, has presented a novel pharmacological research conducted to check the “Beneficial Effect of Liraglutide, GLP-1 Agonist on Pentylenetetrazole Kindling Epilepsy-Induced Comorbidities in Mice” through his oral presentation. His presentation was highly appreciated by the judgment panel and got awarded with first prize.

                Abdul, currently working on Tardive Dyskinesia, has presented a current research work carried out to check the “Neuroprotective Effect of Berberine against 3- Nitropropionic Acid Induced Huntington’s Disease like Symptoms in Rats” in his poster presentation and got first prize.

                Ms. Kajal, currently working on Traumatic Brain Injury, has presented a recent research on the title of “Embelin Restores Striatal Neurochemistry and Attenuates MPTP Induced Motor Deficit in Rats” through her oral presentation and got 3rd prize.

                On this occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice-Chancellor, MRSPTU and Prof. (Dr.) Ashish Baldi, Registrar, MRSPTU appreciated the spectacular achievements of DoPST Scholars. Senior faculty members of department including Dr. Uttam Kumar Mandal, Dr. Amit Bhatia also congratulated all the achievers and wish them all the best for their bright future.
