New Delhi – The Supreme Court on Friday refused urgent hearing of a plea seeking a stay on the release of biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A bench, headed by CJI Ranjan Gogogi, said, “We are not inclined for an urgent hearing into the mentioning by the petitioner.”
Satish Gaikwad, the lawyer appearing for the petitioner, had moved the Apex Court against the Bombay High Court order which had refused to stay the biopic’s release.
Gaikwad in his plea stated that if the biopic is released, then the Model Code of Conduct would be violated, thereby, it should not be released.
