New Delhi – The Supreme Court on Friday stayed the Delhi High Court order of February 28 which ordered vacation of ‘Herald House’ in Delhi that has National Herald office.
The top court direction is seen as a relief to the Gandhi family in the National Herald case.
A bench of the top court, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi, issued a notice to the central government and asked it file a detailed reply within four weeks.
“Order of the Delhi High Court for eviction if the Herald House stayed till further hearing of the case. We issue notice to the Centre for their reply in four weeks,” the bench of the apex court said.
The court passed the interim direction of stay, after hearing from the Associated Journals Ltd (AJL), which has appealed before it, against the Delhi HC order of eviction.
